This week I sit with Noah and Mostafa from Structural Engineering Basics to talk about their careers as structural engineers. They are able to share some really interesting insight on really interesting projects they have been able to work on.
Mostafa is a professional structural engineer with over 15 years of experience in the engineering consulting profession. He has worked on high profile projects with architects, owners and other professionals in many countries including Canada, United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Mostafa has a Doctorate degree and teaches engineering at the university level. His research is published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. He is the co-founder of the Structural Engineering Basics online platform which helps people understand the basics of structural engineering and provides mentorship and guidance for those interested in the topic.
Noah is a professional engineer in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and has over 8 years of experience working in the engineering profession as a structural designer and project manager. He has worked on many unique projects throughout his time in the engineering field including condition assessments of existing structures, renovations to existing buildings, additions to existing buildings, and the design of new structures where he gets the privilege of seeing them being built from the ground up in the city he grew up in. Noah works with architects, owners and contractors on a daily basis and understands the importance of his role as a team member in the wide range on projects that he works on. He also founded Structural Engineering Basics with Mostafa El-Mogy which is a platform that teaches non-structural engineers the basics of structural engineering to make their jobs and lives easier.
