Remote work is now getting traction among companies nationwide. But while there are plenty of tools to help with the work-related side of things, what about the non-work aspects of working in the office — the water-cooler conversations with coworkers? Should they be ignored?
Alexander Embiricos doesn’t think so. He’s the founder of Remotion, a software company that helps remote team members be productive working side-by-side, while also allowing them to have quick, casual, non-work conversations…just like you’d have in an office.
In addition, as remote work becomes the “norm”, knowing how to manage remote teams should be in every manager’s agenda. And since Remotion has been fully remote since the beginning, Alexander has some practical tips on how to do it effectively and make sure the team is still productive.
Make no mistake: remote work is definitely here to stay. Everybody, at some point, will work remotely. And according to Alexander, it’ll change not only how you work, but it can also change where you go to work from.

Alexander is the CEO and Co-founder of Remotion, a virtual office that helps hybrid-remote teams connect like everyone's together. By displaying your teammates' activity on your desktop and allowing you to see what they're up to, Remotion gives teams a sense of shared presence when working remotely.
He launched Remotion six months before the start of the pandemic. Since then, Alexander has seen how remote work has evolved in the last two years, and he is constantly adapting to change and improving his startup's platform to best suit teams working virtually.
Before starting Remotion, Alexander was a Product Manager at Dropbox. He also studied Computer Science at Stanford.
